Lahaina Galleries

Lahaina Galleries represents an exceptional collection of original paintings and limitededition
prints and sculptures by over 30 prestigious artists. Owners Jim and Nancy Killett
founded the original flagship location in Lahaina, Maui, in 1976; there are now three
other locations (Maui, the Big Island, and Fashion Island in Newport Beach, California).
They just recently celebrated their 40th anniversary as Hawai‘i’s premier fine art gallery.
Featured on the left, Robert Bissell’s work has often been described as “Imaginary
Realism,” and has captivated viewers throughout the world. Bissell’s iconic paintings
(often featuring bears with butterflies, elephants and rabbits) are playful meditations on
the secret lives of his charming animal subjects, all with very humanlike characteristics.
His work encourages viewers to reflect on nature, the roads they travel, and the choices
made along the way, and appeal to the intellectual child in everyone
